Albion earn deserved point against Bolton

Oct 3rd, 2010

Albion earned a well deserved premier league point against Bolton at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

The first half finished all square after a rather uneventful 45 minutes and it wasn't until the restart that the game kicked in to life.

Bolton opened the scoring following a great team move when Kevin Davies provided a perfectly weighted lay off to Johan Elmander who dispatched a powerful lunging left foot drive that was too quick for Albion keeper Scott Carson.

It took albion 14 minutes to get back on terms. Gonzalo Jara punted a measured long range pass from his right back position up the right flank and Giles Barnes and Peter Odemwingie set of in chase.

Odemwingie took the initiative and sent Barnes packing, he then shimmied inside to his left and floated in a peach of a cross that found the head of James Morrison who had made a great run into the Bolton 18 yard box.
Morrison duly dispatched an unsavable header to make it 1-1.

Both Albion and Bolton had chances to win the game in an eagerly contested last 10 minutes but the game finished all square which on reflection is a solid home point for the baggies.
